This course is designed to introduce students to the topic of scriptwriting and will cover various aspects of the subject including script formatting, story structure and character development. Over the course of 8 weeks students will develop and complete a screenplay 8 to 15 minutes long that will be eligible for the Filmbase / RTE short film award where successful applicants receive  10,000 towards the funding of their film.

General Information


1. FEES are paid in full on enrolment, are non-transferable and are strictly NON-REFUNDABLE, unless a class does not form, in which case they will be returned as soon as possible. Classes will only form if there are sufficient enrolments. You will only be contacted if your class is not running.
2. All classes are of 8 weeks duration unless otherwise stated. Classes are filled on a strictly 'first come, first served' basis.
3. All course participants attend at their own risk, neither the Minister for Education and Skills nor the Board of Management of Pobalscoil Rosmini and their officers accept liability for damage or injury to persons or property, while present in the school or its precincts. Classes commence Monday 23rd January 2012.
4. Students must be over 16 years of age.
5. COURSE CLOSURE: No course may be formed where the number of students enrolled does not warrant it. The Director reserves the right to close a course and refund fees or to alter times & dates of a course if deemed necessary.
6. Some classes have an upper limit on student numbers so early enrolment is advisable.
7. Rooms are available at competitive rates, by prior arrangement only, for committee meetings, discussion groups etc.
8. Smoking is prohibited by law in any part of the school building or grounds.
9. 100 car parking spaces are available at owners' risk.
10. Extra classes may be provided if demand so requires.
11. Postal bookings are accepted on a 'first come, first served' basis.
12. Pobalscoil Rosmini is a registered FETAC centre.
13. A certificate of attendance can be issued on request.
14. Receipts will be issued on attendance at first class. If a receipt is required sooner, please include a stamped self-addressed envelope.
16. Changes may occur to the class listing. Please check details at registration.
17. Unless otherwise stated, course fees cover tuition and use of building only. Examination fees and materials used must be paid for separately.

How to enrol:

EPP and follow the instructions given. Please note a booking fee applies when paying by credit card.
2. By telephone: 01-8371015 (9.30am to 12.30pm only) with your credit/debit card details.
3. In person: in the Adult Education Office from Monday 9th January until Friday 20th January between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
4. By post: Application form pay by cheque, bank draft or postal order. Send to Adult Education Office, Pobalscoil Rosmini, Grace Park Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9. Postal applications will be accepted up to Friday 20th January 2012. Cheques/PO's should be crossed "a/c payee" and made payable to Pobalscoil Rosmini Adult Education.
